  1. This version 04a of FORM is buggy, it has an erratic crashing bug in
  2. it that I have been trying to find for over two weeks now. However
  3. everyone who's seen Mutations thinks that I should release FORM
  4. anyway.

  6. The bug can appear at almost any time I'm afraid. After FORM has
  7. crashed once your machine may become unstable, and then again it may
  8. not :-). 
  9.  
  10. This bug seems to prefer certain FORMS and not others.
  11.  
  12. Some things which seem to help overcoming the bug if it happens are
  13.  
  14. 1. redirect output to NUL:
  15. 2. use an undocumented command line flag -srand=<a number>
  16. 3. use -res1 -bios (if all you're trying to do is get POV output)
  17.  
  18. I'm really sorry to be releasing a buggy version, I am trying my
  19. hardest to find the problem, and when I do I'll immediately release 
  20. another version. Failing that I may release a GO32 version which has
  21. never crashed!

  23. Let me know if you can get reliable crashes, as these may help me
  24. trace the bug down and squash it.
